Democrats in Congress on Saturday launched an investigation into President Donald Trump’s firing of the State Department’s inner watchdog, accusing the president of additional escalating his struggle in opposition to any oversight of his administration.
Trump, in a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi late on Friday, stated he not had confidence in Inspector General Steve Linick’s potential to serve. Linick is the newest in a string of presidency watchdogs to be eliminated in current weeks beneath the Republican president.
