US Central Command posted an X claiming that CENTCOM forces attacked Houthi advanced conventional weapons storage facilities in Yemen. US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted multiple precision strikes on Iran-backed Houthi underground Advanced Conventional Weapons (ACW) storage in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen on January 8, 2025.
U.S. efforts to quell Houthi efforts Central Command’s efforts
US Central Command further said that the Houthis had used these facilities to attack US Navy warships and merchant ships in the southern Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The command also said that there were no injuries or damage to American personnel or equipment. The strikes come as the U.S. seeks to undermine Iranian-backed Houthi efforts to threaten regional partners in the region. It is part of the efforts of the Central Command.

CENTCOM carried out several precise attacks
Even before this, America has attacked Yemen. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) had also issued an ex-post on December 31, 2025, stating that they had attacked several Houthi positions in Yemen. “US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted multiple precision strikes on Iran-backed Houthi targets in Sanaa and coastal areas of Houthi-controlled territory in Yemen on December 30 and 31,” CENTCOM wrote in the post.
What did the spokesperson say to the Houthi rebels?
Mohammed Abdulsalam, spokesman for Yemen’s Houthi rebels, had said on December 31, 2024 that his country would continue to defend itself after several American attacks in the capital Sanaa. On behalf of America killing people in Gaza and encouraging Israel, Abdulsalam had said that the American invasion of Yemen is a gross violation of the sovereignty of an independent state.
