US China Relations: According to a simulation conducted by the US Congress, in the event of a war with China, America would exhaust its missiles within a few days and face defeat in the conflict.
In this simulation organized by the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party on Thursday (December 5), members of Congress and experts raised questions about the limitations of the American defense industry. He told that this industry is incapable of providing supplies to the American Army at the right time, due to which it may be impossible to win the war.
China’s increasing dominance in Taiwan and Indo-Pacific
This warning has come at a time when China’s aggression is increasing in Taiwan and the Indo-Pacific region. Many countries in this region are America’s allies, which includes Taiwan. In such a situation, in case of any military conflict, America will have to participate in it.
House CCP Committee head John Molnar warned that in the current situation, America is in no position to win the war with China. “Our defense industrial base does not have the capability to prevent and win a conflict with the PRC (People’s Republic of China),” he said.
Problems increased due to dependence on China
Democratic Representative Raja Krishnamurthy, ranking member of the committee, expressed concern over the problems encountered in the simulation. He said there are large gaps in US defense production capacity and the industry is dependent on China for many critical minerals.
Krishnamurthy said, “History shows that we still need a strong defense industrial base to deter aggression and save the world from another devastating conflict.”
Decrease after weapons given to Ukraine
Christian Broz, Chief Strategy Officer of Anduril Industries, said that according to the simulation, America will exhaust its weapons in less than a week. He said that due to the weapons given to Ukraine, America is now lacking in strategic capability.
This warning was also repeated by National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan. He said, “If there is a full-scale war with China, American weapons will run out very quickly. This is a matter of serious concern.”
