Uzbekistan says it shot down Afghan navy aircraft that violated its borders, amid exodus of presidency officers from Kabul

A aircraft believed to be carrying fleeing Afghan navy personnel was shot down by Uzbekistan’s air-defense system after it crossed into the neighboring nation’s airspace, officers within the capital, Tashkent, revealed on Monday.

A spokesman for the Uzbek Defense Ministry advised RIA Novosti that, on Sunday night time, “the air defense forces of the Air Force of Uzbekistan suppressed an attempt to illegally cross the air border of Uzbekistan by an Afghan military aircraft.”
