Search Committee set up for the appointment of Vice Chancellor in Sindh’s government universities search committee DooWere He has selected three names for the head of the University of Health Sciences. Three personalities for the Vice -Chancellors have been selected after two days of interviews in which 17 candidates participated. These candidates were called for interviews after the document scrutiny.
Express was told by sources at the Department of Universities and Boards that the three candidates who have been named as Vice -Chancellor have been shortlisted. These include Prof. Nazli Hussain, Provincial Chancellor of Dow Medical University, former Provincial Chancellor Professor Jahan Ara and Professor Khalid Ashrafi. Jinnah Hospital’s MS Dr Shahid Rasool could not make his place among three elected candidates.
It should be noted that a total of 23 candidates had applied for Dow Medical University.
According to sources, the names of the three names which have been shortlisted are being sent to the security agencies for clearance and after receiving the clearance, the department will send the universities and boards to the Chief Minister Sindh. The Chief Minister will choose one of the three names as Vice -Chancellor.
It is pertinent to mention that the permanent members of the search committee included Chairman Sindh HEC, Secretary, Secretary College Education, Secretary Universities and Boards, and former Vice Chancellor Dr. Saeed Qureshi and Dr. Kartar Devani as Cooperated Member.
