Pervasive within the scroll is the artist’s “solitude, a way of isolation subtly expressed and offered…as a state of his life, with out self-pity or bitterness,” notes Siva Kumar, a number one artwork historian. The scroll, he says, “bears all indicators of the artist’s genius that flowered within the coming years”.
