While the “Barbie” movie continues to dominate the box office, Bratz has made a significant announcement of their own. The fashion doll company debuted its Mini Bratz x Kylie Jenner collectibles on Tuesday (Aug. 1).
Fourteen collectibles will sport iconic looks Kylie has worn over the years. According to their Instagram announcement, each capsule will offer “one bratzified mini Kylie figure and one mini accessory.” Accessories include a red carpet rope, a purple cruiser, and a dog modeled after Kylie’s Italian greyhound Norman.

Kylie Jenner Reveals Dolls Have Been In The Works For The Past Year
As of Wednesday morning, Kylie had not shown her capsule collection love on her Instagram page. However, in Tuesday’s press release, she revealed the collab is a dream come through.
“I have been a fan of Bratz since childhood, and I’ve always wanted my own Bratz doll,” said Kylie Jenner. “I have loved every step of the process this past year in creating these dolls alongside the Bratz team. I’m so excited they are here,” Jenner said.
The collection is only a taste of what’s to come, per the release. It joins the company’s “greater Mini Bratz line,” launched in 2022.

Bratz Creative Director Jasmin Larian praised Kylie Jenner and their decision to collaborate with the Kylie Cosmetics founder.
“This is a seminal moment in Bratz history to join forces with Kylie Jenner as the brand’s first-ever celebrity collaboration. Kylie truly embodies everything Bratz has stood for since its inception 22 years ago – from being disruptive and rebellious to energetic and expressive,” Larian said in the press release. “Not only will this collaboration expand to Kylie’s millions of fans, but it will also reach the audiences that grew up with Bratz and are excited to relive the Y2K Bratz lifestyle today. We couldn’t be prouder to welcome Kylie into the Bratz family.”
Social Media Gawks At Dolls Brown Skin Tone In Kylie Jenner’s New Bratz Collection
But not everyone is as delighted with the limited-time collection. In fact, the collab and its creators are facing heavy backlash on social media.
Black Twitter users, in particular, are not here for the skin tone of the dolls, which appears to be deeper than Kylie’s real-life tone.
However, others are defending the mini collectibles, saying the partnership has been a long time coming. Yet, some acknowledge the dolls’ darker tone while writing it off as another alleged instance of cultural appropriation by the Kardashian family.
Other online users have said Bratz had more aligned options over Kylie Jenner, including JT, Yung Miami, Coi Leray, and Asian Da Brat, to name a few mentioned.

Listen I had every bratz doll in the book. Nobody can speak to me about Bratz!!!!! & I don’t approve of Kylie Jenner’s Bratz!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so mad about that, like that’s very absurd in my book.

I’m sorry I don’t give a fuck about Kylie Jenner having black bratz dolls. Y’all wanna be outraged by everything and it’s irritating. They obsessed with us, be flattered. But don’t make this a thing.

— The Hot Tamale (@AllThtJazzzz) August 2, 2023

i don’t like that Kylie Bratz doll thing. Kylie and the Director Jasmin y’all need to go back to the drawing board, that girl is definitely a Jade doll not Yasmine or Sasha.

lol idc if I sound like one of those people but giving kylie jenner the first celebrity bratz collection is sooooo anti black ew. considering WE were bratz…
— Monet Tayjada (@taymichaelle) August 2, 2023

Honestly those Kylie Jenner Bratz dolls being BLACK is the most disrespectful shit I’ve seen this year
— – Miranda (@MirannaHammins) August 2, 2023

Meanwhile, according to Bratz Art Director Chelsea Green, Kylie Jenner and the brand were meticulous about the doll’s details.
“We’ve been hard at work with Kylie and her team to ensure the dolls are as authentic and meticulously designed as possible. With both Bratz and Kylie at the helm, we knew the collections had to exude authenticity,” Green said.
Bratz and Kylie have not publicly reacted to the growing criticisms.
