Details Of Madonna’s Initial Hospitalization
According to Page Six, the singer was found unresponsive on Saturday, then rushed to a New York City hospital. The 64-year-old was then “intubated” from Saturday evening to Sunday.
Furthermore, her tube was removed, and the singer was left “alert and recovering” with her daughter, Lourdes, at her bedside.
On Wednesday, Guy Oseary, Madonna’s manager, shared the news with the public via Instagram.
Oseary explained that the singer “developed a serious bacterial infection, ” prompting a “several day stay in the ICU.” Additionally, he explained that “her health is improving,” and she’s expected to make a “full recovery.” However, “she is still under medical care.”
Madonna’s manager ended his statement by explaining that her team must cancel her current commitments. This includes her ‘Celebration’ tour, which was expected to begin on July 15, per TMZ.
“We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows,” Oseary said, ending his statement.

Sources Tell Multiple Outlets That Madonna Is Out Of The ICU
US Magazine confirmed that the singer “is now out” of the ICU as of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. A few hours later, PEOPLE disclosed that an unnamed source also informed them of the same information.
“She is out of the ICU now and recovering.”
According to PEOPLE, the 64-year-old’s last health issue occurred in 2020 when she had to undergo hip replacement surgery. The outlet reports that Madonna referred to the time before that surgery as her experiencing “more pain” than she “ever” had in her entire life.
“During my [2019 Madame X] tour—I don’t know if you’ve noticed it, but I’m limping a lot—I was in more pain than I’ve ever been in in my life. I’m a bionic woman—I had hip replacement surgery…”
Despite the surgery, the singer explained that he hadn’t changed her will to stay in shape as she proceeds with her career.
“So, how do I stay in shape? It’s all in your head… It’s called will, it’s called no one’s gonna stop me, and how I stay in shape is no one’s gonna stop me. And how I stay in shape is I don’t believe in limitations.”
